The foaling season at Mulawa is in full swing, with several excellent foals born to date. The expectations for the 2013-2014 foal crop are very high as foals are expected from several of the leading sires from around the world as well as from the best Mulawa chief sires. The influence of World Champions GAZAL AL SHAQAB & MARWAN AL SHAQAB will continue in the Mulawa program directly, as well as indirectly through their celebrated descendants ZT MARWTEYN, ARIA IMPRESARIO and POGROM. Several foals are expected by the Pride of Mulawa - three-time Australian Champion & four-time East Coast Champion KLASS.

One can always anticipate the excitement of the annual Mulawa Open Day by monitoring sales activity within the program. 2013 has been an especially busy pre-season, with sales of several horses to three different Australian states. Local owner & Mulawa Community member Tim Bednall returned to Mulawa in search of high quality geldings and found the yearling KANSAS MI (Konfidence MI X Valencia by DA Valentino) as well as the three-year old KADENCE MI (Guiliano x Mulawa Karismaa by Magnum Psyche), full brother to East Coast Champion KONQUEST MI.

Mark your calendars for the annual Mulawa Open Day! Always a highlight of the Australian and international calendars, the 2013 event is scheduled for Sunday, September 15th. Mulawa is happy to report successful results from the New South Wales State Titles Show on Sunday 7th September. With winners in four classes for junior fillies, colts & geldings, Mulawa is pleased to report a clean sweep in the Junior Championships. As a breeder, it is always incredibly rewarding to celebrate the success of the most important foundation families with those individuals recently imported to enhance the program with new blood. Congratulations to Prutirat Serireongrith on the purchase of KONFIDENCE MI! Australian & East Coast Reserve Champion KONFIDENCE is headed to Southeast Asia to begin his new career as chief sire for the country's leading endurance program. KONFIDENCE will join his stablemate, MULAWA ANGELUS, who was recently named endurance champion at the Sultan Mizan Cup for the second successive year. As a son of KLASS, a grandson on MAGNUM FORTY FOUR and a great-grandson of GLF APOLLO, KONFIDENCE will undoubtedly pass on his impressive heritage of accomplished athleticism, strength, substance, courage and trainablity.

Congratulations to the Gunabalan & Sloan Families on the continued success of IMPRESSA MI. Just this week in Brandon, Manitoba, IMPRESSA was named Canadian National Champion Two Year Old Filly, scoring first on 4 of the 5 judges' cards. This success at the Canadian Nationals was a first for Mulawa. We are incredibly proud of her achievement thus far in North America and thrilled that she has been a star for her new owners. We wish both the Gunabalan and the Sloan Families the best of luck with IMPRESSA at the United States National Championships in October.

Great news from Minnesota! IMPRESSA MI , the most successful imported daughter of multi-National Champion and twice Scottsdale Supreme Champion ARIA IMPRESARIO, was recently named Region 10 Champion Two Year Old Filly. A third generation Mulawa-bred female, IMPRESSA is a direct descendant of US import LM MAGICS GIFT, a Pure Polish daughter of US National Champion and legendary sire ALADDINN. All three generations of Mulawa-bred females have earned championship honours for this family, with IMPRESSA's wins in the United States and wins for her dam, MULAWA ALEXA, and granddam, PERCEPTION, in Australia. Australian Champion AAMAHNI graces the most recent cover of the Arabian Horse News, an honour earned for his unprecedented victory in March. Bred, owned and shown by Cameron Bonney, AAMAHNI is a twice Australian Champion Stallion (both Junior & Senior) as well as East Coast Champion. Breeder & owner credit is also due Evelien Bonney, the matriarch of Parkview Arabians. Parkview began nearly 20 years ago with the acquisition of ALIHA BINT NIZR, who was shown to Australian Champion by a very young and enthusiastic Cameron. Making a big impression in his European debut, PRUSSIA MI conquered the best competition from Europe and the Middle East by winning the title of Gold Champion Yearling Colt at the Mediterranean Championships in Menton, France! This is the third successive championship for the undefeated PRUSSIA, making him the winningest yearling colt internationally in 2013 after winning Gold at both Scottsdale and the World Cup in Las Vegas.

Big news from Thailand, where MULAWA ANGELUS has won the Sultan Mizan Cup for the second successive year back in October! Ridden by female rider Wipawan Pawitayalarp, a native of Thailand, ANGELUS completed the 120 km in just over 7 hours. MULAWA ANGELUS is a 2003 grey gelding sired by superstar athlete & Australian Champion TS AL MALIK and out of the beloved Mulawa Foundation Mare M ANGELIQUE. Congratulations to Wipawan Pawitayalarp and MULAWA ANGELUS on your continued success. We wish you the best of luck on your future endurance endeavours. We are incredibly proud of your achievements!

Mulawa is pleased to report success at Australia's premier Dressage event - the CDI Sydney. The star for Team Mulawa was LUXOR 118, an 11 year old Hannoverian gelding imported from Germany. With rider Katharine Farrell aboard, LUXOR won the Horseland FEI Young Rider Individual Test (CD-Y). Brett Parberry was also hard at work at CDI Sydney with ABER HALLO 29, a nine-year old dark bay Westphalian stallion also imported from PSI. The promising pair finished a strong third in the Mulawa Performance FEI Intermediate I (CDI) and the Needs for Steeds FEI Prix St Georges competition, as well as the Zilco Intermediate Freestyle CDN.

Mulawa is proud to report success from Queensland! With a small team of youngsters, Team Mulawa returned home with both Junior Championship titles under judge Terry Holmes of the USA. MI APHRODITE (Guiliano x Audacia by Parkview Audacious) was named Champion Junior Female, while the up and coming ALYIANCE MI (Allegiance MI x DM Marcedes True Love by RHR Marcedes) was awarded the Champion Junior Male title in his show ring debut.

Congratulations to HRH Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud on the recent success of PRUSSIA MI! Not only was PRUSSIA rewarded with the highest score amongst all the Yearling Colt entries in Las Vegas with 20's for Type & Head, he was most importantly named Supreme Gold Champion Yearling Colt on Sunday morning amidst a group of exceptional colts. We are incredibly proud of PRUSSIA's success at both Scottsdale & Las Vegas. A fourth-generation Mulawa-bred Arabian, PRUSSIA represents the best of his European Triple Crown-winning sire ABHA Qatar and his beloved twice-Australian Champion dam PARADA.

The Australian Championships at Horsley Park in rural Sydney once again proved an extremely successful event for Mulawa owned, bred and exhibited horses. Both Team Halter & Performance were in top form with mutliple champiionships earned in the most prestigious purebred & derivative divisions and disciplines. The show was especillay good for the late MAGNUM FORTY FOUR, whose get and grandget excelled both in-hand and under saddle. Thank you to the outstanding staff and professionals at Mulawa for a job superbly done. Wednesday night at Scottsdale brought more good news to Team Mulawa with the win of IMPRESSA MI in the Junior Two Year Old Filly class. Together with the win for PRUSSIA MI as Scottsdale International Champion Junior Colt, Mulawa is proud of a perfect record at Scottsdale with both contenders winning their respective classes. The East Coast Championships 2013 will go down in history as one of the most successful for Mulawa Team Halter & Performance. Right on track with a super successful season, Team Mulawa Performance once again dominated in the under saddle classes. Team Halter finished with their best East Coast results ever, with spectacular wins for KAVALLE MI, KLASSICAL DREAM MI, VALENTINO'S ANGEL MI & KONQUEST MI. The descendants of MAGNUM FORTY FOUR have been especially successful at this year's East Coast Championships, a fitting tribute to the lasting legacy of the recently deceased Mulawa chief sire.

It is with great sadness that we share the news on the passing of one of the most beloved members of our equine family - ADVENT. The gelding son of Mulawa foundation horses AMBITION and EUNI, ADVENT was a full brother to the late Mulawa sire ARRIVAL. Just shy of 28 years of age, ADVENT had served for the past 23 years of his happy existence as the personal mount of Greg Farrell. We thank you for being a truly wonderful horse and superb ambassador for your breed. Goodbye friend...

It is with great sadness that we share the tragic news of the premature passing of Mulawa chief sire MAGNUM FORTY FOUR. His time with all of us was far too short. For those of us who had the privilege to know him or to be touched by his influence, our lives have been unquestionably changed for the better. You will always be loved and remembered with great fondness and esteem. Rest well and in peace, dear friend.

The final foal of the 2012-2013 season was born this morning, January 18th Aussie time, or better said, Alabama time. We are proud to report it is yet another filly, this time a stunning bay out of former Scottsdale Champion LLC BRIANA, sired by Mulawa junior stallion ALLEGIANCE MI. Thus far, both BRIANA and ALLEGIANCE have emerged as the superstars of the current Mulawa foal crop. Together, the pair produced three superb fillies via embryo transfer, all within five weeks of each other and all a different colour!

The 2012-2013 foaling season is well underway with several outstanding foals already on the ground. Since August, each month has been full of promising colts and fillies that have both met and exceeded expectations on every level. The first foals of young Mulawa chief sire KONFIDENCE MI are thus far proving their sire a worthy successor to KLASS. Tall, correct and well balanced with impressive scope and athleticism, the KONFIDENCE foals all typify the excellence of their sire. KLASS continues to defy the odds by siring world-class foals with uncommon consistency. The superstar of the foal crop thus far is the first filly out of twice National Stud Show Champion Mare MAE MARIE. Several more foals are due in early 2013.
