Mulawa Breeding Program

From the very beginning, the Mulawa breeding philosophy has been purposefully centered around the creation of typically beautiful, world-class quality Arabian athletes capable of success and contribution at the elite level internationally.

For nearly forty years, the principal mission of the Mulawa breeding program has been to create and breed Arabian horses that:

» are beautiful, correct and functional
» have readily apparent presence, attitude & trainability
» have wonderful temperaments; they must be kind and pleasant to be around
» can excel both in the halter & performance competition
» are capable of not only reproducing the superior qualities they possess, but improving upon
these characteristics in the next generation

To this end, stallions chosen as Mulawa chief sires must:

» possess extraordinary characteristics and qualities that are desirable in the program
» possess a complementary pedigree to the core breeding herd, via carefully selected line
     breeding and/or compatible outcross
» add value to the program through the quality of their progeny
» transmit his most desired qualities to the next generation with consistency and prepotency

An esteemed collection of broodmares, respresented in 11 dam families of merit, compliments the quality genetics of the Mulawa stallions. Through meticulous, insightful, and oftentimes painful selection, planning, assessment, culling and experimentation the Mulawa breeding program has evolved into an industry leader in Australia and an Arabian innovator at the vanguard of breeding excellence within the larger international community.
