LUXOR was imported from Germany in 2010 having been purchased through Performance Sales International.

LUXOR is an impressive moving athletic 17hh gelding son of Londonderry, a renowned sire who had great success at the German Riding Championships, winning the Performance test in 1999 at Verden. He went on to achieve the highest results at the Federal Championships for German riding horses in Warendorf. Two years later Londonderry repeated his success and became the Vice-Champion 6-year-old Dressage horse in Warendorf. LUXOR’S dam is the Argentinus daughter Argentinia.

LUXOR was successfully campaigned in Germany by Bianca Kasselmann with much success at the FEI level.

Purchased as the Dressage mount for Katharine Farrell, LUXOR and Kate competed at Medium/Advanced levels with much success at both Inter-schools and Dressage NSW competitions. While Kate completed her secondary school education LUXOR was campaigned by Daniella Dierks and made the step up to Big Tour and Grand Prix competition. LUXOR was named 2012 Dressage NSW Big Tour Champion and went on to be named EFA NSW Dressage Horse of the Year.

Kate resumed her partnership with LUXOR in 2013 where they enjoyed great success in the CDI-Y classes, remaining undefeated throughout the season. During this period LUXOR and Kate also competed on the Arabian show circuit with some great wins including; Champion Arabian Warmblood Gelding/Mare Under Saddle at the Australian Arabian National Championships, and the prestigious East Coast Cup Derviative Championship.

LUXOR and Kate have been competing successfully at FEI Grand Prix together since 2014 with good scores and placings at National CDI’s around the country. This young combination is growing in skill and strength as Kate combines riding with her university studies.

Since 2016, Kate & LUXOR have been undefeated in FEI Under 25 competition, winning the Tours at the EA Young Riders Championships, the Australian Dressge Championships and back to back Sydney CDI's.

Now happily retired, LUXOR is a dream of a horse and a pleasure to have in the barn, full of personality and heart.
