Mulawa is proud to report success from Queensland! With a small team of youngsters, Team Mulawa returned home with both Junior Championship titles under judge Terry Holmes of the USA. MI APHRODITE (Guiliano x Audacia by Parkview Audacious) was named Champion Junior Female, while the up and coming ALYIANCE MI (Allegiance MI x DM Marcedes True Love by RHR Marcedes) was awarded the Champion Junior Male title in his show ring debut.
Congratulations to HRH Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud on the recent success of PRUSSIA MI! Not only was PRUSSIA rewarded with the highest score amongst all the Yearling Colt entries in Las Vegas with 20's for Type & Head, he was most importantly named Supreme Gold Champion Yearling Colt on Sunday morning amidst a group of exceptional colts. We are incredibly proud of PRUSSIA's success at both Scottsdale & Las Vegas. A fourth-generation Mulawa-bred Arabian, PRUSSIA represents the best of his European Triple Crown-winning sire ABHA Qatar and his beloved twice-Australian Champion dam PARADA.
The Australian Championships at Horsley Park in rural Sydney once again proved an extremely successful event for Mulawa owned, bred and exhibited horses. Both Team Halter & Performance were in top form with mutliple champiionships earned in the most prestigious purebred & derivative divisions and disciplines. The show was especillay good for the late MAGNUM FORTY FOUR, whose get and grandget excelled both in-hand and under saddle. Thank you to the outstanding staff and professionals at Mulawa for a job superbly done. Congratulations to all the owners and exhibitors of Mulawa-bred horses who achieved Australian Championship success in 2013. We are extremely proud of you!
Wednesday night at Scottsdale brought more good news to Team Mulawa with the win of IMPRESSA MI in the Junior Two Year Old Filly class. Together with the win for PRUSSIA MI as Scottsdale International Champion Junior Colt, Mulawa is proud of a perfect record at Scottsdale with both contenders winning their respective classes. Congratulations to the Sloan & Gunabalan Families on your success and for putting your faith in this beautiful filly. On Saturday afternoon, PRUSSIA MI won the senior section of Yearling Colts in the Scottsdale International classes. Later in the championship that same afternoon, PRUSSIA was awarded the title of Gold Champion Junior Colt. PRUSSIA MI is proudly a fourth-generation Mulawa-bred superstar. The East Coast Championships 2013 will go down in history as one of the most successful for Mulawa Team Halter & Performance. Right on track with a super successful season, Team Mulawa Performance once again dominated in the under saddle classes. Team Halter finished with their best East Coast results ever, with spectacular wins for KAVALLE MI, KLASSICAL DREAM MI, VALENTINO'S ANGEL MI & KONQUEST MI. The descendants of MAGNUM FORTY FOUR have been especially successful at this year's East Coast Championships, a fitting tribute to the lasting legacy of the recently deceased Mulawa chief sire.
The National Stud Show, hosted at the world class venue of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, once again proved an unqualified success for Team Mulawa - Halter and Performance. Congratulations to everyone involved, owners, trainers and exhibitors, on a job superbly done and a fantastic start to the Aussie show season.
The recent shows in Queensland proved successful for Mulawa with the next generation of show stars amongst the competition. In her debut, PRAVIA MI was awarded the Junior Filly Championship at the prestigious Queensland Challenge. At both the Queensland Challenge and the Gala Event under international judges Dick Adams and Mickey Hegg, respectively, MULAWA ASPIRING (Magnum Forty Four x Jiah Aspire by GLF Apollo) was named Reserve Senior Champion Mare.
For the second year in a row, Team Mulawa Performance was victorious at Dressage with the Stars, the 10th annual event in Werribee, Victoria. In the toughest competition for young Dressage horses on the continent, Arabian Warmblood mare SUGARLOAF SIRHARA was named Champion Five Year Old with an excellent score of 9.0 for Ridability from UK-based and South African born Emile Faurie. SIRARA was also the highest scoring Dressage horse of the show with an excellent score of 82.4%. On Saturday evening competing against both the champion four and six year olds from their respective divisions, SIRHARA was named Australian Young Dressage Horse Champion of Champions to the thundering approval of the crowd.
The Australian Championships have once again proven an outstanding showcase for Mulawa owned, bred and shown horses. Friday proved especially successful for GUILIANO, whose first foals dominated the Yearling classes, earning all three Australian Championship titles. ROMANCE MI earned herself back-to-back Australian Champiosnships with a win as Two & Three Year Old Filly Champion. Katharine Farrell & German-import LUXOR were dominant in the Dressage ring, winning both the Advanced Dressage test and the Prix St Georges. PARADA (with Cameron Bonney) was victorious as Australian Champion Mare. GUILIANO (with Andy Sellman) finished the year undefeated as Australian Champion Stallion and highest score of the show.
Mulawa was the recipient of two major awards on Tuesday night at the Arabian Horse Society of Australia AGM at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.
For the fourth year in a row, Mulawa was named Purebred Breeder of the Year for wins earned at the 2011 Australian Championships. 2011 AHSA Purebred Saddle Horse of the Year was MULAWA BRONZE WINGS, who earned three Australian Championships, two Reserves and one Top Ten at Tamworth with Daniella Dierks.
