2014-2015 Breeder of the Year

We are tremendously pleased to announce that for both 2014 & 2015, Mulawa Arabian Stud was honoured as Purebred Breeder of the Year at the Australian National Championships. These awards were announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Arabian Horse Society of Australia in late March. The late Mulawa chief sire MAGNUM FORTY FOUR was also honoured as Purebred Sire of the Year for a record fifth time.

In the purebred halter section at the Australian National Championships, Mulawa horses were awarded Champion in eight of the nine divisions, winning Reserve Champion in the ninth. Mulawa-bred colts, stallions & geldings won all of the male divisions, while Mulawa-bred fillies and mares dominated in the junior & senior mare championships. In each of the junior divisions - mares, stallions & geldings - Mulawa-bred horses swept the field, winning both champion and reserve honours. Highlights of the show for Team Halter include unanimous National Championships for full siblings VANGELIS MI & ALWAYS VALENTINE MI, National Champion & Reserve Champion Junior Mare accolades for KLASSICAL PRESENCE MI & KLASSICAL DEVOTION MI, respectively, a decisive victory for National Junior Champion Stallion ADVANTAGE MI, and the third National Champion title for MAXIMILLIANO, now a Australian National Champion in every possible age category. We were incredibly happy for the numerous wins by all of the members of the Mulawa family as well, including each and every championship in the very competitive gelding classes.

Team Performance was no less successful, with Mulawa-represented and Mulawa Community horses winning in nearly every possible under saddle division. FAMES PHANTOM MI led the charge with a successive triumph as National Champion Arabian Gelding Under Saddle. ARTISTRY MI gave a brilliant performance as National Reserve Champion Arabian Stallion Under Saddle. The MAGNUM FORTY FOUR geldings RAPID FIRE, ACES WILD & HIGH CALIBRE all collected dozens of titles throughout the weekend, contributing most significantly to the success of their sire as a repeat winner of Purebred Sire of the Year honours.

With the victory of seventh-generation Mulawa-bred ALWAYS VALENTINE in the Senior Mare division, Mulawa achieved milestone status as the first to breed five successive Australian National Champion Mares. Making the triumph especially satisfying is the fact that each of these National Champion Mares descends from a different dam family within the breeding program.

We are incredibly thankful to the the many breeders both in Australia and around the world whose decades of dedication to the Arabian horse have contributed to our success. We look forward with great expectation to a bright future for the Arabian horse here at home and all across the globe.
